Autumn 2020 Newsletter
Hello to all parents and carers and a warm welcome to all our Reception parents!
Helping our children during Covid-19
School closures in March highlighted an urgent need for school investment in laptops to ensure staff can teach remotely in the event of further school closures.
Thanks to you, we have already raised over £10,000 to pay for 30 Chromebook laptops and to cover the Learning By Questions computer programme, leased for Years 5-6. Every class at the Addison Road site now has its own laptop.
People Power
Thanks to your generous donations during lockdown, FOHMS distributed £2000 of food and supermarket gift vouchers and over 100 bags of donated food, to Henry Maynard families in need.
Thank you!
In 2018/19, FOHMS raised funds to pay for two reading sheds so children could read a book at playtime.
Though children can’t use the sheds during the pandemic, they have been installed, painted by parent volunteers, and they look fantastic!
They have been named after the books Beegu and Petra; their colour schemes inspired by the books’ artwork.
Things you can do to help
- make a one-off donation
- set up a monthly direct debit - it's easy & quick
- do a fundraiser and donate the proceeds to the school
Donate your unwanted devices
We are helping to build the school’s I.T. infrastructure, which will be cloud-based, so we would love your unwanted tech (laptops and PCs can be up to 13 years old) to transform into valuable tools to help our children learn.
If you can help, please leave any donations at either school office or email us.
Don't forget to delete your personal data first - here's how.
